Dwarf
Description
Dwarf rats seem to be miniature rats, ideally of proportion equal to normal rats without the bodily distortion of dwarfism. In laboratory population, spontaneous dwarf rats have been shown to have less growth hormone in their bodies, reducing their size to 40-70% of a normal rat's size.
Genetics
Some forms of dwarf or miniature rats seem to be a simple recessive. Others are simply breeding down the size of normal rats and selecting for the smallest adults to breed from.
